lover, you should have come over, its not too late
I think everyone should listen to music in the very huge umbrellas of Classical and Jazz.

omnipotencenurturingmalevolence:

You’ll actually learn how to listen to music, and you’ll learn how to appreciate things you never thought you could. Developing your ear is much like developing your pallet. It takes a tasting a lot of different things on a frequent basis and delving into much more complex flavors as you go along in your journey.

Not enough people do either of these things.

People just stick to their pop music and mcdonalds to with no intentions of bettering themselves.

Don’t get me wrong, I listen to a great deal of pop music and eat fast food occasionally, but that’s appreciating those things is a lot harder when it’s all you know. I really think I appreciate certain chains of food and types of music because of how educated my ear and tongue have become.

But, often will this message fall on deaf ears, because I still know countless people who would never listen to a symphony on their own. No, Paramore is not the epitome of greatness. Listen to a Mahler Symphony and get back to me. Listen to a Bach fugue and get back to me. The amount of talent it takes and talent of the performers is so much more relevant to classical/jazz music than it is with nearly all popular music. There are bands with extremely talented musicians, but they are few and far in between.

Yeah. Go listen to some Coletrain and Dvorak and stop blogging about about how awesome Blink 182 is. Thanks.

Incidentally, predictability is overrated. I - V - I - V - IV - I gets really old, really fast.

really, give it a chance, or at least learn to appreciate it for being good music.  It gets pretty old hearing about how great this or that musician is when really..they are pretty terrible.  I’m not saying don’t listen to bad music too, i love bad music, just learn what good music is…please..?
